COVID PROCEDURES & UPDATES
February 2023 Update: February 28, 2023 marks the end of the COVID-19 State of Emergency in California.
January 2023 Update: MPCP is a fully-vaccinated and boostered facility.
For current clients: If someone in your home is COVID-positive, please refrain from bringing your dog here for care until your household is COVID-negative and your dog has been bathed. Thank you.
For potential clients and visitors: If you are not feeling well and are scheduled to visit with us, please reschedule your new client meeting or visit for another time. Thank you.
January - July 2022 Update: MPCP continues to be a fully-vaccinated and boostered facility. Per the latest CDC guidelines, it is suggested that MPCP clients and visitors, even if fully vaccinated and boostered, wear a mask if we are in close proximity to each other while meeting indoors here or while touring the inside of the daycare/boarding home. Masks optional outdoors and in the backyard.
Unvaccinated clients and visitors are asked to follow the directives below in the August 2021 update. Thank you.
August 2021 Update: Unvaccinated clients arriving at MPCP are asked to wear masks while visiting MPCP and to let me know ahead of their visit so that I can be masked as well. Thank you.
Vaccinated clients may opt to wear a mask while indoors here, per County guidelines, but do not need to while outdoors unless in close proximity while visiting.
April 2021 Update: MPCP is a fully-vaccinated daycare/boarding/training home as of April 2021. Fully-vaccinated clients and guests need not arrive masked at MPCP unless that is their preference at this time. I always have a mask available if you prefer me to wear one when you arrive here; please let me know if that is the case. Thank you.
COVID-19 PROCEDURES AT THE START OF THE PANDEMIC
Home-based care for pets was designated an essential business in the updated Marin County Shelter-in-Place Order of March 31, 2020. As such, it required essential businesses to visibly post their Social Distancing Protocol at their place of business. Our procedures are posted directly on the front gate and are also outlined below. A copy can be sent to you at your request by emailing info@marinpetcarepros.com.
The following procedures are intended for clients and new clients arriving at MPCP who are coming from their own healthy home environment where no one is sick with a cough and fever. If you or anyone in your household or inner circle is ill and has regular, direct contact with your dog, please stay safe at home with your dog until such time as you and/or those closest to you are well again. This precaution is in place due to the reported risk of pets potentially carrying viral particles to others on their fur/hair after spending an extended period of time with an infected person. Thank you in advance for erring on the side of caution along with me.
The address of the premises will be shared with you prior to your scheduled new client meeting here. [For security reasons the address listed on the CONTACT US page is our business mailing address.] We ask that you bring your dog or puppy to the new client meeting so that they can "sniff" things out, get comfortable with me, the home environment and property, and meet the resident cat, Cheezit, in his dedicated "cat room."
When you arrive at the white gate in the front yard, I will be on the stoop wearing a facial covering and will ask that you and anyone accompanying you wear theirs too. I will briefly "unmask" myself so that you and your dog can see my face (for their comfort and our mutual familiarity) before I approach the white gate to open it for you and let you in.
We will proceed directly to the backyard to let your dog meet any daycare or boarding dogs that are here during your visit, after which we will tour the home. Upon our conversations outdoors and while maintaining physical distance, if we decide to go forward and complete the one-page Service Agreement to begin services we will do so in the backyard under the awning rather than in my home office. Feel free to bring your own pen. Any pens or surfaces here (doorknobs, clipboard, counters, table) will be disinfected after use or contact between new clients. Soap and paper towels will be available for those wishing to wash their hands before or after the visit.
At the conclusion of the new client meeting, I will see you out by opening the door and gate for you to avoid having you touch common surfaces. Should you need to disinfect your hands again after exiting my home and stepping onto the driveway, there is a bottle of sanitizer on the brick column to the left of the white front gate (near the white lantern).
If you are a current client dropping off your dog to MPCP, I will open the white gate for you so that you can release your dog to me at drop-off while maintaining the required 6 ft. physical distance and with my being the only one touching the gate surfaces. Please unclip your leash at drop-off and keep it for pick-up. I will have my facial covering available if we cannot maintain the required 6 ft. distance between us at drop-off time.
Alternatively, if your dog must be on leash when exiting or entering your vehicle, go ahead and release them through the gate after unclipping your leash, and I will be on the front stoop ready to receive them. Please take your leash with you for pick-up.
In either of the above scenarios, if you touch the gate/latch and need to disinfect your hands, please look for the bottle of sanitizer on the brick column next to the gate (near the white lantern).
At pick-up time, I will look for you and will meet you outside to release your dog safely to you via the white front gate in anticipation of them jumping into your car and/or your attaching your leash to them at the gate and taking them to your car. I will have my facial covering available if we cannot maintain the required 6 ft. distance between us at pick-up time.
In either of the above scenarios, if you touch the gate/latch and need to disinfect your hands, please look for the bottle of sanitizer on the brick column next to the gate (near the white lantern).
If you have any questions about the above procedures prior to your visit or any suggestions after, please feel free to email me at basia@marinpetcarepros.com Thank you for working with me to keep each of us safe and healthy as we and our dogs get through this unprecedented time.
